Dr Mark is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), sex therapist and sexologist whose focus on sexual healthcare has seen him treat married couples, teenagers, adults and even other health practitioners over his many years as a therapist.
He is a fellowship-trained sexual medicine physician who also has special training in the use of ultrasound to diagnose and intervene in various medical situations that may also require minimally invasive operations as well as targeted injections.
As an RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist), Dr Philip has, on numerous occasions, used his training and education in food and nutrition to assist people who have lifestyle diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart diseases and atherosclerosis.
He is also a fitness enthusiast.
Dr Mark did his sports medicine fellowship at the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute, where part of his training involved caring for athletes affiliated with Boise State University and Capital High School.
Some of the frequent cases he has dealt with, as a licensed marriage and family therapist, are sex therapy, relationship therapy, gender and sexuality issues, and Out-of-control sexual behavior (OCSB).
OCSB refers to patterns of sexual behavior that feel challenging to manage, and can be distressing and overwhelming. They include infidelity and anonymous sexual encounters, excessive porn consumption and compulsive masturbation.
OCSB is sometimes referred to as sexual addiction or hyper-sexuality. It is frequently associated with underlying mental health conditions, past trauma, substance abuse and brain chemistry imbalances.
Dr Mark is married with two children. In his free time, Dr Mark enjoys going to the gym, lifting weights as well as walking his dogs and spending time outdoors walking, biking, running and gardening. His favorite quote is: “Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.”
